Order No. 817 Approving TOP and IRO Reliability Standards

FERC issues a letter order approving NERC's August 25, 2015 petition, and October 23, 2015 supplemental information, seeking approval of errata to three Reliability Standards: BAL-003-1 (Frequency Response Bias Setting), COM-001-2 (Communications), and VAR-001-4 (Voltage and Reactive Control) and to the implementation plan of Reliability Standard PRC-004-4 (Protection System Misoperation Identification and Correction), which have each been previously filed with the Commission and subsequently approved as mandatory and enforceable.

FERC issues an order conditionally accepting NERC's May 20, 2015 and July 6, 2015 risk-based compliance monitoring and enforcement program (CMEP) compliance filings. FERC also directs NERC to submit a compliance filing to modify its Rules of Procedure (ROP) within 120 days of the date of this order.

Order Approving RBR Initiative ROP Revisions Compliance Filing
FERC issues an order accepting the July 17, 2015 Risked-Based Registration (RBR) initiative-related compliance filing that proposed to: eliminate the Load-Serving Entity (LSE) function from the registry criteria and to revise the NERC Rules of Procedure (ROP). FERC also directs NERC to submit an informational filing on the actual effects of this LSE change after it is implemented.
