
James M. Goodrich
James M. Goodrich founded Energy Management Associates (EMA) in 1975 and
served as its Executive Vice President until the sale of the company in
1992. EMA provided operations and financial planning software and related
consulting services to the electric and gas utility industries. In addition
to working on consulting projects for over 100 utility clients, Dr. Goodrich
appeared as an expert witness before numerous state utility regulatory
commissions, as well as FERC.
Following his graduation from Stanford
University, he served as an officer in the U.S. Navy, assigned to the Atomic
Energy Commission on the staff of Admiral Hyman Rickover. While in the Navy
he earned a MS degree from George Washington University and later returned
to Stanford University, where he received MS and PhD degrees in engineering.
Dr. Goodrich was first elected to the NERC board in 1999.
