Welcome to the System Operations Discussion Center

This Discussion Center is open to all system personnel employed in the electric utility industry. The Discussion Center is for everyone, not just system operations personnel; anyone involved with the electric utility industry may join these discussions. NERC created this Discussion Center to provide a forum for system personnel to express their opinions concerning various topics related to their jobs, operations, certification, and NERC Policies. NERC values your opinion. Please feel free to contact NERC should any questions arise out of the use and purpose of this Discussion Center.

Discussion Center Etiquette – Simple rules to follow while using the Discussion Center

  1. Be courteous to others.
  2. Avoid inappropriate language when posting messages.
  3. Stick to the subject of the forum – post a new topic to start a discussion.
  4. Avoid typing in all CAPS – this is shouting and may be considered rude by others.
  5. If you use an acronym – spell it out, don’t assume that someone else will understand your acronym.
  6. Be patient, all questions will be answered, some may take longer than others due to the availability of the NERC staff.
  7. Express your concerns – not your angers.
  8. Don’t be critical of others – don’t name names – don’t blame others.
  9. Members who show disregard for others may have their accounts deactivated by the administrator.
  10. The Discussion Center is for you to share your views, ask questions, obtain answers, and to help you keep abreast with changes taking place!
