Reliability Standards — Effective Dates for Mandatory Enforcement

Inactive Standards

 

The National Energy Board currently has no formal authority to approve NERC reliability standards for international power lines.  The National Energy Board is pursuing the option of amending its Electricity Regulations to adopt NERC reliability standards, in order for them to become mandatory on the international power lines (IPL).  The Board has made known its expectation that IPL owners be compliant with the most current NERC reliability standards in the interim.

NERC Board of Trustees Approval: the date on which the NERC Board of Trustees adopted the standards.

Regulatory Approval Date: the date the applicable regulatory authority approved the standard to be implemented in the jurisdiction.

Mandatory Implementation Date: the date on which the standard becomes mandatory and enforceable in accordance with the existing laws of the jurisdiction and the approval granted by the regulatory authority.

BOT Approved Effective Date: the date approved by the NERC Board of Trustees for the standard to be implemented.
