Section
215 of the Federal Power Act requires the Electric Reliability Organization
(ERO) to develop mandatory and enforceable reliability standards, which are
subject to Commission review and approval.Commission-approved reliability standards become mandatory and
enforceable in the U.S. on a date established in the
Orders approving the standards.
NERC Board of Trustees Approval:
the date on which the NERC Board of Trustees adopted the standards.
Regulatory Approval Date:
the date the applicable
regulatory authority approved the standard to be implemented in the
jurisdiction.
Mandatory
Implementation Date: the date
on which the standard becomes mandatory and enforceable in accordance
with the existing laws of the jurisdiction and the approval granted by the
regulatory authority.
BOT Approved Effective
Date: the date approved by the NERC Board of Trustees for the
standard to be implemented.
