The Standards Committee is seeking industry
experts to serve on the Voltage and Reactive Planning and Control
Standard Drafting Team. The nomination period is open until June
1, 2010.
Purpose/Industry Need:
Improve
the VAR Standards to require appropriate functional entity review of
planning and operating protocols necessary to ensure sufficient reactive
resources, acceptable voltage and reactive margins, and prevent voltage
instability. Also to require an annual
review and update of a five-year
reactive support and control plan.
