Bulk Electric System Process Implementation Plan Update
ATLANTA – The North American Electric Reliability Corporation and the Regional Entities are finalizing development of the processes, information technology tool and related guidance to assist industry in the implementation of the bulk electric system (BES) definition approved by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in Order Nos. 773 and 773-A. The guidance documents, processes and tool are designed to provide industry with certainty and clarity about the implementation of the revised BES definition, which becomes effective on July 1, 2013. The refinements in the revised BES definition provide clarity for what is anticipated to be a limited number of situations and is expected to result in a limited number of assets being removed from the current definition of the BES.
