Cauley to Participate on DOE Quadrennial Energy Review Panel
WASHINGTON Gerry Cauley, NERC’s president and chief executive officer, will participate in the Department of Energy’s panel discussion of its Quadrennial Energy Review at 10:30 a.m. Eastern February 4. The panel is titled “Bulk Power Generation and Transmission: How Can We Plan, Build and Operate the Appropriate Amount for Future Needs?”
The review, which began with a 2014 Presidential Memorandum, focuses on energy infrastructure and identifies the threats, risks, and opportunities for energy and climate security, enabling the federal government to translate policy goals into a set of integrated actions.
In addition to Cauley, panel participants include:
·         Tom Kuhn, president, Edison Electric Institute
·         John Shelk, president and CEO, Electric Power Supply Association
·         Sue Kelly, president and CEO, American Public Power Association
·         Jay Morrison, vice president of regulatory issues, National Rural Electric Cooperative Association
The reliability and resiliency of the bulk power system is essential for NERC, industry, the federal government and consumers. This is a dynamic industry with continuous work by many to keep the lights on. The efforts of NERC, industry and government have resulted in a reliable and secure bulk power system for North America.
