ATLANTA – On March 30, an elevated section of northbound Interstate 85 in Atlanta, a major artery for the Southeast, collapsed due to a fire. The extent of the damage to the interstate and its infrastructure is still under evaluation with repairs expected to last weeks, if not longer.
NERC’s office and the surrounding businesses are operating normally. All NERC meetings and workshops will take place as scheduled. However, those traveling to NERC’s headquarters are encouraged to use Atlanta’s public rail system, MARTA, due to road closures and traffic constraints.
