WHAT IS pc-GAR for Windows?

pc-GAR, the automated personal computer (pc-) version of NERC's Generating Availability Report, (GAR) is ready for your use. pc-GAR expands the usefulness of this NERC report by placing you in control of the data retrieval and report writing process. It is the easiest and fastest way to use reliability information from more than 5,000 generating units reporting to NERC's Generating Availability Data System (GADS).

pc-GAR is fast! It allows you to conduct instantaneous data searches and analyses based on the specific criteria YOU select. It is a stand-alone program; no additional support programs are needed.

pc-GAR comes with unit operating performance information, operating statistics, and fuel data so your analyses start with more than 75,000
unit-years of history the moment the program is installed.

IT'S FLEXIBLE!

pc-GAR is flexible! You can select from hundreds of data combinations using information stored in the unit design, operating data, availability statistics, and fuel characteristics files. All the data in pc-GAR are verified by the reporting utilities, assuring accurate information all at your fingertips. pc-GAR allows you to access historical data and develop trends. Using the GADS design data, you can analyze units and major equipment by type, manufacturer, operating statistics, and more.

IT'S EASY TO USE!

pc-GAR is easy to use! Computer novices and experts alike will appreciate the logically arranged and structured menus that guide you through data and analysis selections. The software Wizard helps you learn each step in data retrieval, The User's guide also takes you step-by-step through the pc-GAR installation and operating procedures. You will be analyzing availability data shortly after installation.

The program comes with several report, graphs, distributions and table outputs. You can print reports at the push of a button or export to other word processing or spreadsheet software. Table outputs can also be exported to well-known software packages like Excel, Lotus or any CSV-inputing software.

Demonstration CD Available
GADS has a demonstration CD that provides five years of actual data for testing and learning pc-GAR capabilities. It demonstrates the many options available for analyzing generating units. The demo CD is too large to download

The pc-GAR for Windows price begins at $1,500 for GADS-contributing NERC Regional Council members and $4,000 to all others. Prepayment is required.
