Cauley to Participate on Grid Security Panel Hosted by Energy Times
ATLANTAGerry Cauley, NERC’s president and chief executive officer, will participate on a webinar presented by Energy Times, “The Grid Cyber Threat — Are We Prepared?” The panel, composed of key utility and government leaders, will discuss protecting the grid, the policies and strategies in place, as well as future efforts.
The February 3 webinar, which begins with a pre-recorded interview with Ted Koppel, author of Lights Out, will discuss how a devastating cyber attack on our power grid would affect our future.
In addition to Cauley, panel participants include:
·         Caitlin A. Durkovich, assistant secretary for Infrastructure Protection, National Protection and Programs Directorate for the Department of Homeland Security.
·         Patricia Hoffman, assistant secretary for Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability, Department of Energy.
·         Kevin Wailes, vice chair, Electricity Subsector Coordinating Council and Lincoln Electric System administrator and chief executive officer.
·         Edna M. Conway, chief security officer, Global Value Chain, Cisco Systems, Inc.
