Collaboration, Strategies for Addressing Dynamic Threats Highlighted at Annual Grid Security Conference
ST. PAUL, Minn. – Unity of effort between industry, government and stakeholders to strengthen the North American grid was the focus of the North American Electric Reliability Corporation’s seventh annual grid security conference — GridSecCon 2017. The two-day conference reflects the vital role of training and tools for navigating a complex grid security environment that requires effective information sharing.
GridSecCon is one way that NERC and the Electricity Information Sharing and Analysis Center (E-ISAC) foster a learning environment among stakeholders to promote the security and resiliency of the bulk power system. An additional two days of training and briefings were offered to participants.
Gerry Cauley, NERC’s president and chief executive officer, delivered the keynote address, calling on utilities to continue building a grid security culture that goes beyond the foundation of NERC’s Reliability Standards.
