NERC Files Physical Security Standard with FERC Prior to 90-Day Deadline
WASHINGTON, DC – The North American Electric Reliability Corporation filed the proposed CIP-014-1 – Physical Security Reliability Standard with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission today. The filing highlights the culmination of collaboration between NERC and stakeholders to develop and file a standard on or before June 5 that addressed physical security threats and vulnerabilities to the bulk power system, as ordered by FERC. The physical security standard final ballot closed on May 5 with 86 percent approval from the ballot body. The NERC Board of Trustees adopted the proposed standard on May 13.
