NERC Grid Exercise Increases Cybersecurity Readiness; Identifies Enhancements to Improve Security
WASHINGTON, DC – The North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) completed its after-action review of the 2011 grid security exercise, GridEx 2011. The review identifies key findings and recommendations for improving the electric industry’s cybersecurity programs. More than 75 organizations, including utilities and U.S. and Canadian governments, participated in the exercise, which was designed to validate the readiness of the industry to respond to a cyber incident, strengthen the crisis response functions of utilities, and provide input for internal security program improvements.
