Peterson Named Chair of BC Hydro Board; Steps Down from NERC Board
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Kenneth G. Peterson was named chair of the BC Hydro Board by the Cabinet of the Government of British Columbia on July 20. In addition to his duties as chair, Peterson will help shape the strategic direction of the Crown Corporation in the rapidly changing environment facing utilities and their customers across North America.
Due to this appointment, Peterson has resigned from the NERC Board of Trustees, effective immediately. Peterson was elected to the NERC Board in February 2006 and served in numerous positions, including the current chair of the Standards Oversight and Technology Committee. Previously, Peterson served as director of Planning at BC Hydro and Power Authority and as chair of the Western Electricity Coordinating Council board. Peterson’s NERC Board term was set to expire in February 2018 and he is not eligible for re-election due to Board term limits.
