Second Agreement between NERC, NPCC and Québec Régie Signed
ATLANTA – The North American Electric Reliability Corporation, the Northeast Power Coordinating Council, Inc. and the Régie de l’Energie Québec signed an agreement regarding the implementation of a compliance monitoring and enforcement program for mandatory Reliability Standards in Québec. The agreement outlines the respective roles and responsibilities of NERC, NPCC and the Régie in implementing this compliance monitoring and enforcement program.
NERC and NPCC are charged, as part of the electric reliability organization (ERO) for North America, with ensuring the reliability of the international bulk power system through a variety of ways, including mandatory compliance with Reliability Standards. The Régie ensures that electric power transmission in Québec is carried out in accordance with its adopted Reliability Standards.
The continued collaboration between the ERO and the Régie serves to strengthen the reliability, resiliency and information-sharing across the North American bulk power system. The ERO looks forward to the ongoing partnership.
