WASHINGTON, DC – Gerry Cauley, president and chief executive officer of the North American Electric Reliability Corporation, testified in front of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee today. The hearing focused on grid reliability and security and was chaired by Mary Landrieu (D-La.) and ranking member Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska).
Cauley’s testimony outlined activities, including the current effort to produce a standard on physical security, the recently completed 13 city outreach program in partnership with federal agencies in response to the Metcalf incident and the recently concluded GridEx II, the most comprehensive cyber and physical security exercise to date, involving more than 230 public and private organizations.
