Cauley Testifies on Cybersecurity at House Energy Subcommittee Hearing
WASHINGTON, D.C.Gerry Cauley, president and chief executive officer at NERC, testified before the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s Energy Subcommittee on September 14. The topic of the hearing was “Powering America: Defining Reliability in a Transforming Electricity Industry.” The hearing examined how regulators and the industry are addressing reliability. 
Cauley discussed NERC’s role in identifying and addressing reliability risk as the generation resource mix undergoes extraordinary changes. “The electricity sector is undergoing significant change that is unprecedented for both its transformational nature and rapid pace. Such extraordinary change presents new challenges and opportunities for reliability,” Cauley’s prepared statement to the committee said.
