 July 2, 2013
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) hosts its third annual Grid Security Conference (GridSecCon) on October 15-17 in Jacksonville, Fla.
The conference focuses on cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities, lessons-learned, and risk mitigation and awareness discussions led by senior industry and government leaders. GridSecCon promotes bulk power system reliability through training and education in an open forum.
“The NERC conference will once again provide an opportunity for grid security experts to discuss security policy and best practices,” said Brian Harrell, associate director of critical infrastructure protection programs at NERC. “GridSecCon also provides attendees useful physical and cybersecurity training that is taught by industry subject matter experts.”
Keynote speakers include Gerry Cauley, president and chief executive officer at NERC; and the Honorable Michael Chertoff, former Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security and co-founder and managing principal of the Chertoff Group.
