NERC's GMD data collection program supports ongoing research and analysis of GMD risk. NERC is collecting geomagnetically induced current (GIC) and magnetometer data from reporting entities for designated strong GMD events (Kp = 7 and greater). As specified in FERC Order No. 830, NERC will make collected GIC and magnetometer data available to support ongoing research and analysis.

 

This training is intended for entities and individuals with roles relating to the analysis of geomagnetic disturbance events. Training materials will be posted on the GMD Training page of NERC.com one week before the training session. The training session will be recorded and posted for future reference.

 

The training will be offered via webinar.
