A webinar to kick off the implementation of the Bulk Electric System definition is scheduled for Friday, May 2, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. 
The webinar will include an overview of how to apply the new BES Definition, an introduction to the BESnet Application used to process Self-Determined Notifications and Exception Requests, and a review of the current BES Implementation Schedule.   
Overview of the BES Definition
Carter Edge, Director of the Office of Coordinated Activities for the Regional Entity Management Group, and Bob Cummings, Director of Reliability Initiatives and System Analysis at NERC, will review the key aspects of the BES definition, and highlight online resources available to assist registered entities in applying the definition to their own facilities. 
Introduction to the BESnet Application
Justin Lofquist, Associate Director of Enterprise IT Architecture at NERC, will provide an introduction to the BESnet Application, through which NERC and the Regional Entities will be reviewing all Self-Determined Notifications and processing all Exception Requests.
Review of the BES Implementation Schedule
Andy Rodriquez, Director for Reliability Assessments and Performance Analysis at NERC, will review the current implementation schedule with participants and highlight important milestone dates.
