WASHINGTON, D.C. – At its monthly open meeting, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) approved NERC’s request for approval of an inverter-based resources work plan and request for expedited review of the plan. In its February 15, 2023 filing NERC sought approval and requested for expedited review of a work plan describing NERC's proposed approach for identifying and registering owners of inverter-based resources within 36 months of Commission approval of the work plan. NERC submitted an amendment to the work plan on March 13, 2023.
NERC appreciates FERC’s focus on reliability matters and will continue to work toward assuring the reliability and security of the North American bulk power system.
